I enjoyed your inspired and unconventional recommendations for this subject, Flack! I'm three for four on this week's episode. I have never encountered or even heard of The Stuff. Also, it never sunk in with me that the family's name was Sawyer in Texas Chainsaw Massacre, despite having seen it numerous times.
I saw Labyrinth in the theater when it was released... magical! I was entranced by Jareth's contact juggling of the crystal ball. It's done by a professional juggler behind Bowie. This was an underrated film. (I do like The Dark Crystal, also.)
You're right, Texas Chainsaw Massacre is less gory then you'd expect or you may remember. Sometimes what your mind imagines is more potent than what you actually see. It is certainly disturbing, and it is a tense film.
Possibly more tense and disturbing in an entirely different way, Virginia Woolf, was another excellent recommendation! I've only seen it a few times, but the movie stays with you. The Sawyers of Texas are a well adjusted, loving family compared to George and Martha!
I loved the unique family choices you made for these recommendations! I like that you often have selections that I have never heard of despite being a fairly knowledgeable movie viewer. Great job!
