This was an enjoyable episode, Flack! I like that you, as you mentioned, stepped outside of your comfort zone... no toe-biting werewolves in these recommendations!
Good choices! I did see the Fat Albert special when it originally aired, and although I would often watch the Saturday morning cartoon also, I, too, felt that Fat Albert and his friends inhabited a different world than my own... and I guess they did, urban Philadelphia vs. a small town of 750 people in rural Iowa.
Although I never saw the Disney specials you mentioned, I do seem to remember that there would be seasonal holiday episodes of The Wonderful World of Disney. I'll keep an eye out for the special you recommend.
My only point of contention from the episode is that I always enjoyed the World War I flying ace scenes from It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. They were always some of my favorite strips from the Peanuts collections that I would read as a kid. I used to pretend that I, like Snoopy, was behind enemy lines and trying to get to safety while wandering around the fields and woods near my home.

Great episode!
Fun episode, I'm glad someone else remembers the Fat Albert specials. They had them for Christmas and Easter too. They're all on YouTube ;-)
